Heavenly Father – We thank you for all the blessings you bestow upon us every day. We thank you for the wonder of this world and its beauty. We thank you for this opportunity we have to gather with those who love you and to worship you in spirit and in truth.
We pray for the isolated. Many feel alone. We pray Father that they are reminded of you, reminded that you have not given us a spirit of fear. Reminded that we can trust you with whatever may come. We pray Lord that we all open our eyes and have concern for others above our self. Give us the courage to reach out and offer encouragement to others.
We pray for those that have forgotten you Lord. Lord, let their hearts and minds be opened to you. Our prayer is that they will learn more about you in this time of trouble, learn of the comfort you give your people, and turn their hearts to you.
There are many that have fallen ill and we pray for them. Many are afraid of the unknown. They don’t know how bad the symptoms will get, and are burdened by the thought that they might have infected other people before they even knew they were sick. You are the Great Physician, and so we pray for healing. Give those in need the courage to face the day, the self-discipline to take care of their body while they heal. Remind them that while they don’t know what their future holds to give the glory to you, the one who holds their future. We thank you O Lord for all those that have recovered.
There are many who are parents and they also fear the unknown, fear how others will act in this time of uncertainty, fear of how long this will last, fear for their family, their children and what things will be like for them once this current crisis has past. We pray Father that they stay well so they can look after their families. Help them to find the energy and courage through you to do the things that are needful, keep a clear mind, not grow weary and to stay focused on you. We pray they will make the most of this time and fill their children with encouragement and the love the Lord.
We pray for those that have lost income and fear for the loved ones they support. Help them to have trust Lord, to realize that everything they have comes from you. Give them new insight into what is truly valuable and to lay their fears at your feet.
There are many who have far more to deal with then these things Lord. They are the ones who care for us. They have devoted themselves to care for the movement of supplies, our security, our health, our safety and our governance. Our prayer is that they remain healthy to continue in their tasks. We ask that you would work through them to give us the best care possible. Give them strength when they are weak, endurance to push through the long hours, and tongues that offer hope and compassion to those who are sick and scared. Some of those they care for won’t survive this virus. Lord, don’t let those that serve become numb. Give them the strength to keep going, to keep working. Give them opportunities to share the hope that is found in you. Help them to not be afraid. Remind us all to praise you in this storm.
We pray Lord as we go through the scenes of this virtual worship service that you are with us, open our hearts and minds to all that You say and do.
In Jesus name we pray -- Amen
